The Jack Friedland Award is given to the SEC Roughriders member who has contributed the most to our club on a consistent basis. The contribution is sustained throughout the year and in some cases across multiple years.
Cecilia Baptista
In 2003 the Award was presented to Cecilia Baptista, for her role as Vice President of Education and for her relentless drive and dedication which helped to make our club a better club and to encourage all members to step out of their comfort zone and to excel and grow.
Though she has moved back to Brazil, her influence continues to touch us and to lead us.

Brendan Hoey
In 2004 the Award was presented to Brendan Hoey, who for 36 years continues to not only support the club, but does so in a manner where others are encouraged to excel and improve as speakers. In addition Brendan continues to ensure the SIRA club thrives and grows. Twice a year since the passing of our fellow SEC Roughrider, Jack Friedland, Brendan continued to keep the tradition of the SIRA club is alive. He gathers the members and helps to facilitate the meeting. He continues to teach us and we continue to learn.
