Looking to improve your speaking abilities? Come visit our award-winning SEC Roughriders Toastmasters Club where members learn to create and deliver informative, entertaining and professional speeches.
While members vary in age, profession, and skill level, they share a few goals:
- To improve their public speaking ability and confidence
- To think fast on their feet with ease
- To support fellow members in becoming successful public speakers

If you’re curious about checking out our club, come attend one of our Thursday meetings at 12 pm at the New York City Bar Association. No registration necessary.
Enjoy a buffet lunch served at 12 noon. Meetings start promptly at 12:30 and end at 2 PM.
ARRIVE ON TIME
As a courtesy to our speakers, we ask that guests and visitors arrive on time.
DRESS CODE
Professional business attire is required.
COST
There is a $15 fee to attend which includes buffet lunch, coffee, tea, dessert and the SEC Roughriders Speech Experience.
OUR LOCATION
The New York City Bar Association Building is located at 42 West 44th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues. The Roughriders meets on the main floor.
Each SEC Roughriders meeting follows a formal and consistent agenda:
- Table Topics: Attendees answer a series of questions to help hone their impromptu speaking skills.
- Prepared Speeches: Listen to three or four prepared speeches by SEC Roughriders members.
- Speech Evaluations: Each prepared speech is evaluated by a fellow member.
- Master Evaluation: The Master Evaluator reviews each of the speech evaluations and the meeting as a whole.
